Preview of SCC EVENTS 2024
Flying high at the start of the season
After a successful start to the year at the Berlin New Year's Run, where donations were collected for the Björn Schulz Foundation at the Brandenburg Gate, things are set to get off to a flying start at the beginning of April.
The season opener - GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON
The spectacular season opener takes place in the capital on April 7th. The GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON is the hip sightseeing tour in running shoes or on inline skates. With this international, fast and popular race, growing both with regard to accompanying events and numbers of participants, this top-ranked event will get the 2024 season off to a great start. The extensive start and finish area between the Victory Column and Brandenburg Gate is right in the heart of Berlin. It doesn’t get any better.
KoRo Berlin Women's Run - Party and Charity
Just four weeks later, women will be celebrating their very special party in the same place. At the KoRo Berlin Women's Run on Saturday afternoon on 4 May, the Tiergarten belongs to all sporty women who want to feel good, either running and walking. On the 5K and 10Kcourses, the community commitment to support women suffering from cancer takes centre stage. Women's power and team spirit can be celebrated in charity teams, in which kilometres and donations are collected together.
Smooth changes are good for team chemistry
Berliner Wasserbetriebe 5x5 km TEAM Relay in the merry month of May
Berlin's biggest team event is taking place a little earlier than usual. From Tuesday 14 May to Thursday 16 May, theBerliner Wasserbetriebe 5 x 5 km TEAM Relay will be "three days of relay madness and partying until you drop in Tiergarten" as usual. The new date was chosen due to the start of the build-up to the 2024 European Football Championship Fan Mile at the beginning of June. So, the special motto this year is that the Merry Month of May will live up to its name on the three relay days.
Team spirit on the water - StWB TEAM Relay Brandenburg
You can give your team spirit another boost a week later in the south-west part of the capital. The cosy town of Brandenburg an der Havel is the beautiful backdrop for the StWB TEAM Relay Brandenburg on Thursday 23 May. The multifaceted 5K route along the Niederhavel river leads over eight bridges through the historic town. Here too, the motto is: one for all, all for one. A picnic together after the sporting activity will give you that summer night feeling.
Don’t get haggard, get hiking - HIKING HERO in Bernau and the surrounding area
The 2nd edition of the HIKING HERO will take place nearby on 15 June. Bernau, the charming start and finish location, can be easily reached by train from the centre of Berlin in 30 minutes. "A different kind of marathon" is the motto of this new extreme hiking event. The 44K loop through the countryside offers sweeping views and deep insights. Hiking brings people together and is enormously communicative. We are excited to see how we can be part of the development of this new trend sport.
Cooling down again
Lake addiction and forest intoxication - SwimRun Rheinsberg
Rheinsberg is another favourite destination for all fans of outdoor exercise. On Sunday 30 June, the idyllic little town in the north of Berlin will host the SwimRun Rheinsberg. The combination of running and swimming, through crystal-clear lakes and breezy forests, as part of a team or alone, is what makes this sport so fascinating. The backdrop of Rheinsberg Castle, the summery flair and the relaxed atmosphere have now found a dedicated fan base.
The fastest night in Berlin - adidas Runner City Night
The next SCC EVENTS highlight will take place on the evening of 27 July in the heart of City West. The adidas Runners City Night, also known as the "fastest night in Berlin", brings together hip nighttime runners and newcomers to the running community on the super-fast course along the magnificent Kurfürstendamm boulevard. The programme also includes fast-paced or relaxed inline skating. The iconic Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the glow-in-the-dark finish gate are the coolest eye-catchers.
